Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the 'Courts Group'.

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is the first level of the Victorian court system and is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria. It has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 locations, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
**About the Role**
Reporting to a Senior Koori Practice Advisor, this role primarily coordinates court support where there are vacancies or staff on leave. While this role will generally be responsible for supporting courts within a specific territory, on occasion there may be need for this role to provide support in other locations across the state.
The role will also provide project support to the Koori Justice Branch where required, and will assist with the induction and training of new court-based employees within Koori programs.
Operational support to Koori Justice programs and associated court-based staff, including:
- Coordinate Koori Court operations during staff leave or vacancies
- Support onboarding and mentoring of new Koori program staff
- Assist Elders and Respected Persons in their court roles
- Manage Reference Group meetings and data reporting
- Promote culturally safe practices across Koori Justice programs
- Advise court staff on services for Aboriginal participants
- Engage with First Nations communities and stakeholders
- Contribute to project development and address emerging issues

**About You**
- Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture, community, and justice issues
- Confident in engaging with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders
- Qualifications in community services or experience in a related area such as client focussed care are desirable
- A current driver's license is required as this is a state-wide position and will require travel and overnight stay where required
- Able to provide a Confirmation of Aboriginality (CoA) or a letter of support from a recognised Aboriginal organisation or community leader
