This is a rare opportunity for a dynamic and pragmatic compliance manager to join the Mable Legal, Regulatory and Compliance team in a scaling business. You will thrive in a varied role where you will work as part of a small team, collaborating with business functions to address regulatory issues and provide solutions. You will also assist with developing compliance and governance processes to support business growth.

You will work under the Head of Legal, Regulatory and Compliance yet have autonomy to use your compliance expertise to advise on a wide range of matters, influencing the delivery of Mable’s strategic objectives. Working in a profit-for-purpose technology company means you will be able to make a meaningful and positive impact with your compliance skills.

**This role can be based from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.**

**Day to day will see you**:

- Managing the privacy and compliance function, including development, update, and implementation of business policies and procedures.
- Working with the Risk and Continuous Improvement Manager to respond to identified risks and provide recommendations in accordance with legislation, policies and guidelines.
- Create the compliance architecture and lead the culture of accountability within the Mable group of companies
- Monitor regulatory changes and industry developments to ensure the company is aware of changes in laws and regulations
- Lead investigation and remediation of compliance incidents, assisting with drafting responses to regulators on complex issues.
- Assist with the development of internal controls to identify and manage compliance and privacy risks
- Manage non-compliance in respect of legislation by utilising a range of administrative compliance tools.
- Manage business wide advisory on privacy and compliance matters, counselling on industry code, interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with training and embed learning on latest privacy and compliance programs.
- Conduct regular compliance audits to identify any gaps in compliance and support continuous improvement in systems and processes.
- Performing other duties as directed.
- Stay up to date with relevant regulations (IP, Privacy, Spam Act) and assist stakeholders in achieving and maintaining compliance
- Provide in-depth expertise on privacy best practices, privacy impact assessments and the evolving landscapes of data protection and cybersecurity.
- Collaborate with other business units to manage relationships with industry regulators and assist with responding to regulatory inquiries

**Skills and experience**:

- Strong background in compliance with a reputable organisation
- Certifications in Compliance, Privacy or Corporate Governance advantageous.
- Experience drafting and reviewing policies and internal procedures manuals.
- Experience conducting compliance audits and investigations.
- Skilled at managing competing priorities within a diverse workload and a collaborative attitude essential to working in a small team in a shared services model (industry experience in NDIS or aged care is highly desired).
- Strong project management and strategic planning skills
- Attention to detail and a high-level of accuracy
- Ability to interact with management levels of a business and build relationships with key stakeholders
- Ability to influence others to drive action and uncover potential risk to the business
- Capacity to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative environment
- Flexible and motivated to succeed in a fast-paced environment
- Clear and confident communicator who values plain English and is able to summarise concepts into practical steps
