As we expand into our brand-new, state-of-the-art store in **Broadmeadows**, we are looking for passionate, skilled **Deli Assistants** to join our friendly team.

Our new store is designed to be a **true one-stop shop**, featuring a full-service **butcher**, **seafood counter**, **bakery**, **licensed bistro and café**, **sushi bar**, and much more. It’s a dynamic, customer-focused environment where quality and service are at the heart of everything we do.

**About the Role**:
As a **Deli Assistant**, you will be responsible for preparing, presenting, and serving a wide range of delicatessen items including sliced meats, cheeses, antipasto, and other gourmet goods. You'll work closely with your team to ensure the deli section is well-stocked, clean, and running smoothly throughout the day, while delivering outstanding service to every customer.

This role is ideal for someone with a passion for fresh food, excellent attention to detail, and strong customer service skills.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Delivering friendly and knowledgeable **customer service** at the deli counter
- **Slicing, cutting, and grating** a range of smallgoods and cheeses to order
- Preparing and packaging deli products for display and sale
- Ensuring product displays are **visually appealing**, clean, and well-stocked
- Assisting with **stock rotation**, labelling, and checking use-by dates
- Maintaining **high standards of cleanliness and hygiene** in all food prep areas
- Operating deli equipment safely and efficiently (slicers, graters, scales, etc.)
- Following all **food safety**, **handling**, and **OH&S procedures**:

- Working as part of a team to ensure smooth daily operations and a positive work environment

**About You**:

- Minimum **6 months of deli or food retail experience**:

- Confidence using **deli-specific equipment** such as slicers and graters
- A **basic knowledge of smallgoods and cheeses**, or a willingness to learn
- Strong **awareness of food safety and hygiene practices**:

- Ability to work both **independently and as part of a team**:

- Great communication skills and a **customer-first mindset**:

- Good physical fitness, including the ability to stand for long periods
- Availability to work **early mornings, weekends, and public holidays** as required
