**Our team is rapidly growing and we're on the hunt for an experienced Laboratory Technical Officer** to join our team and help our company to achieve our big, audacious goals to transform the plant-based and alternative protein sector.

The **Role of Laboratory Technical officer** is to perform preparatory duties and assist in a range of activities to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the lab along with the Laboratory Manager.

**Our Laboratory Technical Officer will**
- Help in everyday lab work of media preparation, laboratory stock solutions preparation, waste management and setting up basic experiments for a diverse team.
- Maintain stocks of lab consumables and other lab resources and help in creating and maintaining an inventory and database of the consumables and chemicals.
- Undertake and/or organise the care and maintenance of specialist scientific equipment including scales, microscopes, electronic and other specialist equipment.
- Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness in laboratories and preparation areas.
- Help teams with basic microbial cultivations and strains maintenance and routine sample preparations for lipid extractions and another analytical processes.
- Actively participate and comply with lab safety.

**You have**:

- Degree, or equivalent, in chemistry, biology and/or relevant experience.
- A history of professional and respectful behaviours and attitudes in a collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- The ability to effectively manage several competing priorities simultaneously and carry out non-routine tasks under technical direction from Senior Technical/Research staff.
- Proven ability to investigate routine problems by identifying and considering the implications of a range of available alternative solutions.
- Ability to follow instructions properly and work independently.
- Ability to conduct experiments, data recording and accurately report results to supervisors.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety.

**It would be great, but not essential, if you also had**:

- Hands-on experience in using aseptic microbial growth techniques.
- Experience in R&D environment in Plant laboratory.
- Experience in food, fermentation or analytical laboratories.
