**Your Opportunity**

As the Area Manager, you will lead a devoted team in supporting our Program Managers and Service Delivery team over various Drug and Alcohol (AOD), YouthBeat and other youth services, and for the performance of operations and contract delivery within these areas.

You will be a passionate people leader who can drive a culture of openness and productivity while fostering an environment that focuses on client outcomes and satisfaction. You will oversee workforce planning and resource management and demonstrate effective people management of teams, including the development and coaching of frontline service delivery managers.

You will also represent Mission Australia across the region, building a presence with locally based government representatives, funding bodies and corporate stakeholders.

**Your Key Responsibilities**
- Lead the service delivery team and be accountable for performance of operations and effective and efficient contract delivery, including tracking performance against targets.
- Build and maintain positive external relationships within the area, including government, funder, community, and corporate stakeholders
- Take an active role in a minimum of two committees or membership bodies within the Youth or AOD Sector
- Be an inspirational Leader to the service delivery team by demonstrating courage in leadership and responding to issues and risks appropriately
- Perform effective and efficient contract delivery by working with the Finance Business Partner and other Managers to develop budgets for services and ensure responsible and effective management of funds to support service viability and sustainability
- Manage staffing recruitment and retention in order for 24/7 services to remain operational
- Support the Regional Leader and State Director in contract negotiations and innovative service improvement or design
- Provide upline on-call to 24/7 services on a rotational basis

**Requirements for Success**

With a significant background leading large teams over different locations and working in the community services sector, you will be confident in values-based leadership and workforce planning. Other requirements include:

- A tertiary qualification in community services, leadership and/or management - or equivalent demonstrated experience
- Knowledge of youth work/trauma informed care and recovery framework as well as experience in managing youth and/or AOD services will be highly regarded
- Proven experience in leading teams across multiple services and contracts
- Demonstrated ability to deliver business outcomes on time and within budget
- Knowledge and experience of financial and asset management processes and systems
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Insightful people management and professional development of others
- Strong experience in managing stakeholder relationships and building positive collaborations
- Good understanding of Government contracting processes
- Solution-focused problem solving skills
- High knowledge of computer systems and processes, CRM’s including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Evidence of up to date Covid 19 vaccination
- Must have full driver licence with no restrictions
