**About the Role**:
Solid Pathways STEM is an innovative program specifically designed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. The objectives is to support, nurture and encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to continue their academic success. The program uses online classrooms to deliver and enrichment program to a vast number of students across the state. Students participating in the program have the opportunity to explore STEM in a Culturally responsive way through critical and creative thinking, developing skills and knowledge specifically designed to meet the needs of each year level cohort.
As the Principal Advisor, you will have the responsibility for the following:

- Leading the development of materials and resources that support high quality teaching practice, instructional leadership and school community partnerships.
- Embedding and modelling effective and productive work practices enabled by digital technologies;
- Embedding collaborative processes that allow everyone to contribute to improving academic outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students;
- Ability to communicate effectively (both written and orally), including preparing complex reports;
- Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within an education related context and a clear understanding of contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Culture and Protocols.

The duties of this position involve communication with and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their families. Although it is not mandatory for an Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander person to fill this position, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.

**Interested teachers should consider that**:

- Possession of a relevant degree from a recognised tertiary institution or agreed equivalent which, in the opinion of the Director-General, Department of Education or delegate is acceptable and is relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
- An understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories an cultures, and culturally responsive pedagogies would also be highly desirable.
- This is a Central Office program, however the position is located at Warilda Conference Centre, Wooloowin, unless otherwise determined to meet the Departments needs.
