**The Opportunity**

Our client is a global financial services powerhouse brand looking for a Technology Lead to join their development team. With a view to simplify the operation and adoption of digital platforms and apps for their customers they are innovating on ways their customers access their services. The Technology Lead will play a key role in the full product ops and development life cycle run on an Agile methodology with embedded DevSecOps principals.

The role will work with a wide range of technologies, languages and clouds including AWS (DynamoDB, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, Cloud Formation, Kinesis, SNS, SQS, EC2, AppSync, Serverless services), Java 8 and/or 9 with Spring Boot, Spring Integration, JAX-RS, Spring Batch and Spring Security, NodeJS, and JavaScript/Typescript.
The role will require you to have a strong and in-depth understanding of cloud, CI/CD practices, and modern development practices. Tooling such as Git/GitHub, Bamboo/Jenkins, Gradle, NPM/Yarn, Docker, Kubernetes, SonarQube, etc.

As our client's platform team is in growth mode there are plenty of challenges to overcome, decisions to be made, and new development to do. Needless to say you will have a lot of interesting things to learn and problems to solve.
Role Responsibilities:

- Partner with Platform teams, Product Management, DevOps, and other key collaborators to create and implement the roadmap for platform services.
- Guide and empower the development team on decisions for features, technology, architecture, designs, time & budget estimates, and test strategies.
- Mentor a diverse team of engineering talent.
- Partner with other teams across our client to collaborate on interdependent technologies.
- Work in a fast-paced, agile process
- Experience in setting up, operating and monitoring a technical platform and its associated technologies.
- Capability to question the status quo, challenge yourself and the business on the value that will be delivered to end customers
- Working to succeed as one team by providing technical mentoring and guidance, driving best of breed engineering practices relevant to the work, and uplifting technical ways of working.
- Lead issue resolution, identifying root cause and implementing solutions.
- Experience with API management platforms, design standards, patterns and best practices

What you need to succeed:

- Excellent and effective communication skills
- Experience leading software development teams
- Experience working with and operating high-availability cloud native systems
- Experience working in multi-functional environment and building partnerships with key teams
- B.S. or above degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of cloud and container technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS is a plus.
