As the Technical Facilities – Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of world-class teaching, learning, and creative production within the Film and Television discipline at the prestigious Faculty of Fine Arts and Music. You'll oversee the technical functionality and readiness of key screen production environments, with a strong emphasis on post-production systems, digital media workflows, and infrastructure support—including the faculty's new Virtual Production Studio. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of screen-based education and production while fostering the next generation of creative talent.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Studio Operation and Technical Support: Manage post-production suites, edit bays, and screening rooms, ensuring smooth operations, safety, and alignment with curriculum and production timelines.
  • Team Leadership: Provide effective leadership and management of a multidisciplinary technical team, fostering an inclusive and collaborative work culture, supporting staff development, and driving continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Infrastructure Maintenance: Oversee post-production infrastructure, including EditShare and Avid NEXIS, ensuring secure access, efficient media management, and system reliability.
  • Software Management: Maintain professional editing systems and software, manage licensing, user access, and version control across platforms to support teaching and production continuity.
  • Training and Support: Deliver inductions, provide troubleshooting and workflow guidance, and maintain clear documentation and support materials.

You may be a great fit if:

You are an experienced technical professional with a passion for screen-based education and production, possessing strong leadership skills, technical expertise in post-production workflows and digital media infrastructure, and the ability to foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.

You may also:

  • Have extensive experience in managing post-production facilities, digital media workflows, and technical teams in a film, television, or educational setting.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of professional editing software such as Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Pro Tools.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with academic staff, students, and external partners.
  • Have a proven track record in leading and developing high-performing teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Possess a relevant tertiary qualification in a related field, such as film production, media technology, or computer science (desirable).
