About the Opportunity

At FVREE we provide services across the continuum of family violence: prevention, specialist risk assessment and safety planning programs, crisis response, case management and recovery.

This role is part of our growing therapeutic intervention programs at FVREE, including the delivery of a 12 - month pilot program As a member of a small team of therapeutic practitioners, you will work with victim survivors, including children and young people, towards recovery from the trauma of family violence. You will draw on your professional practice skills to deliver evidence-based interventions that are trauma-informed, client-centred, inclusive and strengths-based.

As the Specialist Family Violence Therapeutic Practitioner, you will deliver therapeutic services within the pilot program and contribute to activities such as program planning, implementation and evaluation, all of which will be led by the Therapeutic Lead. Your practice knowledge and therapeutic experience will play a key role in shaping the pilot program and contributing to its success.

- Engage with clients and provide high quality therapeutic services utilising a range of therapeutic approaches.
- Utilise their highly developed therapeutic skills to build trust, engage, advocate and deliver services to victim survivors and their children.
- Work effectively autonomously and as part of a team.
- Use their deep understanding of relevant theoretical and practice frameworks relating to family violence, including intersectional feminism, trauma-informed practice and strengths-based practice, to deliver high quality counselling services to adults, children and young people, using a range of therapeutic approaches.
- Effectively incorporate into practice, knowledge and expertise in child and adolescent development, attachment and trauma theories.
- Build trust and engage with clients, peers and other stakeholders.
- Work effectively autonomously and as part of a team.
- Contribute to planning, implementation and evaluation of programs.

You Will Also Need These Qualifications And/Or Experience:

- Tertiary qualifications in Counselling or Psychology and eligibility for membership of the relevant professional body.
- Demonstrated experience and skills in the delivery of therapeutic programs to both adults, children and young people.
- Knowledge and experience in safety planning, managing a caseload and client advocacy.
