**The Role**
- Are you looking for an opportunity to lead an organisation supporting and delivering multiple minor vessels and a diverse workforce located across multiple geographic locations?

The newly established Minor Vessel System Program Office (MVSPO) requires an EL 2 Minor Vessel System Program Office Director (MVSPOD) leader. Under broad direction you will perform and achieve very complex project and program management activities. The role will require the exercise of a significant degree of independence to manage and deliver asset management outcomes for multiple classes of vessels supported by the MVSPO.

Based in Perth WA, your responsibilities will encompass staff located in Perth, Darwin and Cairns.
You will have strong leadership and the ability to manage an integrated workforce comprised of APS, ADF and contractors. You will have strong communication skills, an in-depth knowledge of legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.

As the EL 2 MVSPO Director, you will provide a strategic level of specialist, professional and technical expertise, across multiple functional areas. You will initiate, establish and maintain strong and trusted relationships with a network of stakeholders both internally and externally and will have the ability to recognise shared agendas and work toward mutually beneficial outcomes.
This position has people management responsibility and as such you will be required to exercise people management skills and possess the knowledge, tact and experience to lead a high performing, cohesive and geographically dispersed team.

**About our Team**
The Minor Vessel Systems Program Office (MVSPO) operates within the Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG), as a part of the Maritime Sustainment Division, within the Specialist Systems Branch. As part of NSSG, MVSPO is evolving into the Maritime Sustainment Model (MSM). It is a national, integrated approach that is delivering a continuous sustainment environment to support Continuous Naval Shipbuilding.

The MVSPO is one of three System Program Offices within the Specialist Systems Branch with an office-based presence in Cairns, Darwin and Perth. The MVSPO provides asset management services in support of the Offshore Patrol Vessels, Patrol Boat and Hydrographic assets.

Additionally, they will be accountable to implement strategic direction and manage program strategies that support planning, resource and risk management of Defence assets. Previous senior leadership role/experience in a maritime sustainment environment is highly desirable.
