We are going through an exciting period of growth and placing a strong emphasis on property development and integrated communities to enhance the well-being and quality of life for our seniors and veterans. Our mission is centred around the concept of "profit for purpose," ensuring that every endeavour contributes to our mission.
We are currently seeking a Design Manager (architect) to lead our design initiatives, playing a pivotal role in the conception, delivery, and optimisation of a diverse range of existing and upcoming development opportunities across our expansive portfolio. Your expertise will have a great impact on the seniors housing sector and shape the future of our organisation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop concept designs for various seniors housing formats, ensuring compliance with market benchmarks and operational goals.- Establish refurbishment standards for Independent Living Units (ILUs) to meet resale requirements and assist in developing a procurement strategy for ILU refurbishment.- Work closely with the Property/Development team to establish design and construction standards, prioritizing safety throughout the process.- Contribute to the development of standardized processes and templates for efficient project delivery.- Ensure comprehensive construction contract documentation, considering scope, specifications, quality, time, cost, and risk.- Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, Environmental, Quality, and legislative requirements.- Implement best practices in sourcing and contracting for project deliverables, aligned with RSL Lifecare procurement guidelines.- Manage stakeholder relationships with community, government entities, and RSL Lifecare executives for effective property planning.- Present design and project proposals to internal and external stakeholders.- Provide design input to optimise the health, sustainability, and life cycle management of the property portfolio.
We need you to have:
- Degree in Architecture or related field.- Proven experience as a Design Manager or Senior Architect, preferably in the seniors housing or aged care sector.- Strong leadership skills and ability to collaborate effectively with various teams and stakeholders.- Extensive knowledge of design principles, construction documentation, and building regulations.- Proficient in project management and coordination.- Excellent communication and presentation skills.- Sound understanding of financial and procurement processes.- Familiarity with safety and compliance standards in the construction industry.- Ability to interpret legal documents and relevant legislation.- Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
