**Position Information**:
Gwynneville Public School is a K to 6 primary school located close to the Wollongong CBD and the University of Wollongong. It has an enrolment of 240 students, where 11% identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and 40% are represented on the EAL/D (English as an additional language or dialect) scales.
The motto of Gwynneville Public School is "A Caring School" and this underlies the essential elements of the school's philosophy.
The school community, through the P&C and parental participation, is involved in the progress and development of the school. The multicultural nature of the school is unique. - Proven instructional leader with the demonstrated capacity to embed a culture of high expectations and student engagement through targeted professional learning for all staff.
- Demonstrated highly visible, collaborative, approachable leader who can lead continued improvement and engage the voices of all stakeholders to make decisions, strategically plan and deliver action to maximise outcomes for all students
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the demonstrated ability to lead the school vision and strategic directions to ensure effective transitions and successful pathways for all students.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
