Who you are
You are both resilient and open minded, with excellent administration and customer service skills. You will approach all situations with a safety mindset, like identifying potential hazards and reducing risk where possible. You are a team player and will be friendly and approachable. You will be able to communicate clearly and effectively with the many people who visit IKEA Richmond, including co-workers, visitors, contractors, and customers. You are able to adapt to rapidly changing situations yet are still able to juggle your focus to keep on track with your deliverables.
You may have a security background, but this isn’t a requirement, as long as you have a passion for supporting our safety and security operation.
A security licence and current first aid certificate is required for this role but if you do not currently hold either of these, you must be willing and able to attain one. Your time commitment includes being available to work a roster including early mornings, late nights and an ability to work alternate weekends.
**Your responsibilities**
Working as a Safety & Security Co-worker within the co-worker and visitor reception area, you will act as the face of IKEA to all those who enter our store. This is a dynamic role, your tasks and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Be the first point of contact, managing visitors, contractors, and co-worker access to and from the store.
- Displaying exceptional customer service to everyone that passes through the reception area, answering and directing all queries to the appropriate person and/or team.
- Providing a high level of administrative support with tasks such as audits, incident reporting, database management and filing.
- Monitoring and reviewing CCTV, conducting investigations, responding quickly and efficiently to alarms and initiating emergency response procedures if required.
- Assist in ensuring the store is compliant with all IKEA and local rules, guidelines and legislative requirements, in order to protect our assets and the IKEA brand.

The Safety & Security function is integral to ensuring compliance and thus a safe and secure environment for our all our visitors, customers and our co-workers. The team partners with the business to protect our assets through being knowledgeable about the IKEA business. As a Safety & Security Co-worker you will work with co-workers to create a better everyday life
This opportunity is Permanent, Part-Time, 60hrs/fortnight.
