**The Role**
The APS5 Assistant Security and Safety Officer is accountable, with mínimal supervision, to support and achieve a variety of security and WHS work to deliver business outcomes for the Air Lift Systems Program Office (ALSPO), located at RAAF Base Richmond.
Key duties include:
- Provide protective security and WHS advice, based on policy and legislative requirements, to achieve appropriate controls and support decision making.
- Assist in the collation, research and analysis of security and safety data to contribute to the development of reports, submissions & briefings.
- Performing procedural/administrative support (e.g. security and safety reporting, managing the security inbox and maintenance of security assets).
- Assist the preparation and presentation of security training and awareness sessions to Defence personnel to support the protective security needs of Defence.
**About our Team**
The Air Lift Systems Program Office at RAAF Base Richmond is a Business Unit within the Airlift and Tanker Systems branch of the Aerospace Systems Division. ALSPO is the in-service support agency responsible for sustaining and enhancing the C-130J Hercules and C-27J Spartan aircraft and for providing support to the sustainment of the Australian Defence Force’s Aerospace Simulators and training systems. ALSPO, in partnership with industry, exists to support Air Force’s Air Mobility Group achieve its mission by providing effective sustainment support solutions.
The Business Management Unit is a highly capable and professional team operating in a dynamic and challenging work environment supporting Defence capability. Given the integrated nature of our business, building and maintaining cooperative and collaborative relationships are fundamental to our success. Working on site at RAAF Base Richmond the Business Management Unit operates under a service delivery model enabling the Program Managers to focus on capability outcomes.
The Assistant Security and Safety Officer will manage workflows and is expected to build team capability by developing quality products and building and sustaining productive and collaborative relationships. They will be enthusiastic and self-motivated and thrive on producing accurate information in a fast paced and complex environment.
