**Position Overview**
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced High School English Teacher to deliver the English curriculum to students in Years 7-12. The successful applicant will be a dynamic educator who can create meaningful learning experiences, build strong rapport with students, and support the academic and personal development of every learner.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum or relevant state syllabus
- Teach a range of English topics including literature, writing, language, and comprehension
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
- Assess student progress through formal and informal assessments and provide timely feedback
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement and contribute to reporting requirements
- Participate in faculty meetings, school events, and professional development activities
**Requirements**:
- Tertiary qualification in Education with a specialisation in English (Secondary)
- Current registration with the relevant state teaching authority (e.g. NESA in NSW)
- Valid Working With Children Check (for paid employment)
- Sound knowledge of the English curriculum and effective pedagogical strategies
- Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
- Commitment to student-centred learning and academic excellence
- Ability to use technology effectively to enhance learning
**Desirable**
- Experience teaching HSC English Standard and/or Advanced
- Familiarity with literacy intervention or enrichment strategies
- Ability to contribute to extracurricular programs (e.g. debating, writing competitions, school publications)
