Manager Forensic Analytics Consulting
**Your Opportunity**
We have an opportunity in our Melbourne forensic data analytics practice for a manager to assist our clients with calculating compensation arising from errors or misconduct. You will be working with our top tier clients in investigating, quantifying and remediating matters of fraud, misconduct, non-compliance and other irregularities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Work with leading global organisations, regulators and law firms to formulate and document requirements for identifying, investigating and analysing business processes, functions and control frameworks.
- Translation of requirements into analytics methodologies and designing data models.
- Using programming (such as SQL and Python) connect disparate data sources, and develop scripted routines to assist with establishing the facts and identifying irregularities.
- Quantify the impact of issues by translating business rules and instructions to codified routines.
- Present findings using dashboards (such as PowerBI and Tableau) to enable exploratory data analysis and insights.
- Draft clear and concise reports recording assumptions, decisions, methodology and results.
- Testing and ensuring quality of analysis delivered by team members.
- Scope and carry out day-to-day management of engagements (budgeting and billing), liaising with clients, assessing and analysing data and documentation, and managing junior team members.
- Support business development activities, including proposal development.
**How are you extraordinary?**
- You might be someone coming from a non-technology background (e.g. accounting, investigations, disputes, legal, audit, risk or compliance) looking to grow their technical data analytics skills.
- You’re a detailed oriented individual with excellent problem solving skills. You may not know the answer now, but you will take the initiative to work it out.
- You are great with quantitative analysis and have excellent written communication skills to articulate your analysis to a non-technical audience.
- You are comfortable working in ambiguous situations - we work on projects where historical data may be incomplete or missing, but we still need to develop defensible approaches to challenging business problems.
- You’re a great project manager and love keeping organised.
**Your Experience**
We’re interested in more than just technical skills, we look for potential. How you grow matters to us. We’re looking for people hungry to learn, with an intellectual curiosity that is waiting to be tapped to help solve our client’s biggest challenges.
Your skills & experience could include:
- More than 5 years of professional work experience, preferably as a data analytics consultant, data analyst, SQL developer, business analyst or related role.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in analysis with Microsoft SQL (but if you don’t have strong experience in this, we’re keen on understanding what exposure you have and how you will learn).
- Experience leading small teams, including methodology development, model design, task assignment and quality review.
- Experience in legal analytics, loss quantification, remediation or wage compliance is ideal but not necessary.
**Qualifications**
- Tertiary qualifications or work experience in a business discipline (e.g. finance, accounting, law).
- Tertiary qualifications in a technical discipline (e.g. engineering, IT, computing, information systems) desirable but not mandatory.
- Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia.
