**The Role**
The ALS Geochemistry Sample Preparation facility in Zillmere is seeking a Shift Leading Hand for the afternoon shift 2:00pm to 10:15 pm, other shift flexibility will be required for long term operations.

**The day to day**
This is a leadership role with the following responsibilities:

- Assisting Coordinating production for your shift
- Ensuring shift tasks are completed and coordination at shift hand-over
- Assisting in trouble shooting
- Training and supervising of staff
- Assisting with operations when needed.

**The essentials**
- An understanding of the sample preparation process or experience with ALS systems would be a bonus
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to lead, supervise and instruct team members
- Be flexible and able to multi-task
- Availability to work day/afternoon/night shifts (non rotating)
- Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills
- A strong commitment to safety and client service
- Excellent attention to detail
- Current Manual Drivers Licence and Forklift Licence, or willing to obtain
- Complete daily Quality control requirements
- Availability to work day/afternoon/night shifts (non rotating) Holiday fill as required
- Excellent attention to detail
- Operation of mineral sample preparation equipment (weigh scales, crushers, pulverisers, etc)
- Routine manual tasking in a minerals processing environment
- Physically fit, and prepared to carry out manual tasks
- Willing to work in a dusty and noisy environment (PPE including safety glasses, dust and hearing protection provided).

This is a challenging role and although safety and quality of work must be maintained, an ability to work at a pace that suits the demands of the position is essential.
