**Job Overview**:
We’re looking for an Accounts Officer to help us stay on top of our numbers, maintain smooth financial operations, and support informed decision-making as we grow. This role is hands-on and varied, with opportunities to grow alongside the business and help shape our financial function.

You’ll work closely with senior leaders and internal teams to ensure financial reporting is accurate, our processes are efficient and compliant, and that we’re making the best decisions with the data available.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Operational Finance**: Help maintain smooth financial operations. That includes reconciling accounts, supporting period-end processes, payroll processing, managing payables and receivables, supporting grant acquittals, and ensuring activity is recorded accurately with support of our bookkeeper.
- **Financial Reporting & Analysis**: You’ll support the preparation of monthly financial reports ensuring data is clear and useful for the broader team. This includes tracking performance metrics and preparing internal summaries.
- **Budgeting & Forecasting**: Work alongside the leadership team to build and update financial models and budgets. You'll help us understand the drivers behind our performance and flag areas that need attention.
- **External stakeholder support**:Working with our external accountant to complete financial and tax reporting.

**What we are looking for**:

- 1 - 3 years of experience working in a similar role, and a degree in Commerce, Business, Accounting, or similar. CA/CPA qualification (or working towards it) is a plus.
- A collaborative and practical approach — you’re happy to get involved and solve problems as they arise.
- Solid analytical and reporting skills.
- Good working knowledge of accounting and financial processes.
- Some understanding of compliance and tax obligations.
- Interest in innovation and the startup ecosystem is highly valued.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
