Community Development Officer

We are looking for a Community Development Officer. You will have an active and visible role in the community by developing community strategies, evaluating social projects and increasing participation in projects to support and improve community wellbeing.

Reporting to the Community Services Lead, this position will support the City by:

- Assisting with the development of proposals, frameworks and plans related to community development.
- Researching, compiling and analysing data from community feedback and prepare evaluation reports to identify trends, opportunities, and measures of success.
- Fostering positive relationships, partnerships, networks and collaborations with internal and external stakeholders.
- Providing specialist advice to key stakeholders and special interest groups and support the delivery of projects and initiatives that arise from the Equity Diversity and Inclusion Framework, Homelessness Action Plan and other related plans.

You will have demonstrated knowledge of community development/ capacity building principles and practices in asset-based community development (ACBD).

Experience in working across community development portfolios such as homelessness, reconciliation, disability access and inclusion, LGBQTIA+, volunteers, seniors, youth, sport and recreation.
