**Overall Purpose of the Role**

The PTS Support Technician is a PPT employee who provides back fill support for the main PTS Technician. Involved in the planned and preventative maintenance as well as breakdown repairs to the Sumetzberger PTS system, and sitewide electrical systems within capability. As a secondary function the PTS technician will constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, tiles, painting, locks and doors, conforming to local building codes. This role requires a pro-active approach to safety and adherence to Our Safety Culture behaviours.

**Duties**:

- Mark cutting and assembly lines on materials and shape materials to prescribed measurements.
- Assemble the cut and shaped materials and fasten them together with nails, dowel pins, or glue, and verify trueness of structure with plumb bob and carpenter's level.
- Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare for fabrication
- Work with colleagues and customers
- Perform other duties within his / her capabilities as required by Supervisor or Manager
- Repair and maintain the PTS system onsite
- Undertake patch and paint, Gyproc repairs and general painting as required
- General handyman repairs as required
- Electrical repairs on systems as required and within capabilities

Skills & Experience:

- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
- Team player and able to work autonomously
- Flexible approach and attitude
- Good communication skills
- Hard working
