**The Opportunity**

Transport for NSW is currently recruiting for a Technical Specialist - Network Service Delivery to join the Network and Hosting Service Delivery team within our Corporate IT for Transport Division.

This is a Permanent Full-Time opportunity based out of our Macquarie Park office with flexible working arrangements available. Please note that you must be flexible to work rostered additional hours (on-call) outside of ordinary working hours.

You will provide technical assurance over network infrastructure services being

delivered by Transport’s network service suppliers. This includes technical validation of supplier detailed designs and proposed configurations. You will also be responsible for the evaluation and approval of technical changes, the technical validation of supplier provided quotes, proposals and invoices, and involvement in the assessment of supplier provided incident root causes and permanent corrective actions.

On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

- Assist with the development and/or approval of portfolio specific low level solution designs on an as needed basis (note third party suppliers are responsible for solution design of in scope services).
- Support the review and assessment of the technical aspects of IT changes in the operational environment including participation in the change review process and validating that impact assessments have been accurately addressed.
- Provide guidance, recommendations and approvals within the ITIL change management process.
- Provide technical assurance through the evaluation of supplier provided designs and proposals. Evaluate and provide guidance on proposed technical configurations and assist with technical assessments and evaluations in both operational and recovery activities.
- Act as an intermediary between operating agency technology (OT) organisations (e.g., Trains private fibre network and the Traffic Management Centre (TMC) network and services consumed by either the managed network services supplier or the Transport agencies.
- Review and assess the technical requirements within service requests and confirm scope of technical solutions and suppliers required. Review and validate service provider technical quotes and proposals, including cost estimates and the validation of related invoices to ensure TfNSW is receiving value-for-money.
- Review and approve supplier provided root cause analysis (RCA) and potential permanent corrective actions and contribute to the escalation of incidents for network services to support the Incident and Problem Management processes.
- Proactively identify and escalate potential risks. Contribute to the development of risk management plans, establishment of risk controls and performance of risk mitigation activities ensure best practice risk management.

To be successful in this role you will need:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- Relevant network and IT Service Management certification/s.
- Knowledge of leading practices and emerging trends in network services (e.g., Software Defined Networking & architecture), and operational experience with large, complex Data Centre networks incorporating network load balancing and Enterprise Perimeter Security (EPS) technologies.
- Technical experience analysing, assessing and supporting network services in large, complex federated organisations;
- Knowledge of network assurance across operations and maintenance, network planning and inventory (asset) management in federated and multi-sourced environments.
