Permanent FIFO Medic working an 8:6 roster from Perth

**Your new company**

As an experienced Medic, you will be working for an owner operator for laterite nickel in an open-pit mining environment located in the Southeast region of Western Australia. Operations involve three open-pits, an ore processing beneficiation plant and includes purpose built facilities for transporting product from the plant.

**Your new role**

As an experienced Medic, you will manage the day-to-day medical centre activities, to provide early intervention and illness and injury management to the site. As the Medic, you will work with your peers to offer support, guidance, and advice to help build a strong, competent H&S team to improve safety of all employees. Your responsibilities as Medic will include, but is not limited to;
- Being accountable for the on-call medical phone
- Facilitating effective injury management and escalation according to company philosophies
- Transporting patients off-site if necessary, including medivac and hospital transfers
- Conducting daily patient reviews and welfare checks
- Communicating with Medical Services Providers
- Managing the medical centre, including maintaining registers, equipment checks, and cleaning
- Reviewing and developing Medical Centre Procedures and Policies
- Assisting the Medical Coordinator
- Participating in drills and skills development
- Assisting with reporting and auditing as needed
- Responding to medical emergencies
- Treating patients in a primary healthcare setting, including work-related and non-work-related injuries and personal illnesses
- Performing daily tasks related to injury management and early intervention of injuries

**What you'll need to succeed**

As a qualified and experienced Medic, you will need;
- Diploma in Paramedical Science or equal to, RN Certification
- Previous clinical experience
- Drug & Alcohol Testing Certification
- ALS Certificate
- INX experience - InControl, InFlight, InTuition
- Proven experience with Injury Management and Worker’s Compensation
- Mental Health First Aid qualification
- Drive under emergency conditions qualification
