We’re on the hunt for a **Head of Debt Capital Markets** to join our growing **Global Capital Markets** team** within the** Wholesale Banking** department of ING Australia.

The Debt Capital Markets (“DCM”) team in Australia is focused on bond origination and execution (Debt Capital Markets “DCM”) and is an integral part of the ING APAC Global Capital Markets team and the broader Capital Markets & Advisory Group. The Australia DCM origination team works closely with our partners in the ING Wholesale Bank value chain, including sectors, country, debt syndicate, fixed income sales, sustainable finance and legal teams, to deliver best-in-class advice and execution for bond funding opportunities for financial institutions (across covered, senior unsecured and capital-related), and investment grade and high-yield corporates.

As **Head of Debt Capital Markets Australia**, you’ll originate EUR and USD bond transactions for existing and potential ING clients and drive execution on mandated transactions. This role will report locally into the Head of Wholesale Bank Australia and functionally into the Head of Global Capital Markets APAC.

You’ll have the ability to independently organise marketing efforts and manage execution from mandate to closing is essential for this senior DCM role. In this role, origination is mainly focused on Australian clients, with coverage of select Asian clients (should it be required). **We’re looking for someone with exceptional established relationships and** DCM **technical capability **with a collaborative mindset, who can add immediate value to the team and work with other high performing teams and colleagues at ING.

**What you’ll do**
- Manage origination and oversight of GCM transactions across the entire product suite
- Manage a local GCM team
- Establish and develop relationship with key internal stakeholders, e.g. ING’s colleagues in Sectors, to identify opportunities and formulate and drive business strategies for GCM in alignment with ING APAC’s overall wholesale banking strategy
- Own the direct management of external client relationship as senior originator / deal principal
- Consult with clients with regards to strategic capital markets-based funding and capital solutions including liability management
- Provide clients with regular write-ups of key macroeconomic developments as well as primary and secondary debt capital market flows and translating all of this into funding recommendations and relevant pricing indications (in the form of pitch books and / or regular market & pricing updates or else)
- Lead pricing discussions with syndicate desks globally
- Prepare and conducting roadshows and be the face of Global Capital Markets for ING Australia

**What we’re looking for**
- Exceptional skills in GCM origination and execution for financial institutions (covered, senior and capital) and corporates
- Outstanding client relationship and stakeholder management skills (internal, external, regulators etc.)
- Proven people management experience with the ability to coach, mentor and uplift team capability
- Solid track record in relation to the origination and execution of GCM products across corporates and FIs, and across the credit spectrum (senior and capital etc). Ideally, this experience covers offshore currencies including EUR, US$ and some knowledge of local Asian FX
- Solid expertise in structuring and advising clients with regard to their capital structure and finance solutions
- Relevant and recent DCM (bond origination) experience of 10 years
- Minimum 15 years+ front office banking experience
- Banking experience and knowledge of the Australian FI environment
- Capability of running relevant work streams independently
