**About the Role**

The Security Advisor supports the development and implementation of protective security initiatives across the department. The role will contribute significantly to departmental and whole of government protective security work programs, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop policies, advice, briefs, reports and departmental responses on a range on protective security matters. Under the guidance of the Manager Security Programs, the Security Advisor will build relationships and deliver outcomes that positively influence the department’s security culture.

**Position Outcomes**
- Lead and contribute toward key protective security activities, projects, programs and initiatives across the Department and broader sector.
- Establish and maintain strong connections and collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders across the Department., Victorian government and broader transport sector to drive excellence and innovation to support the Department’s security needs.
- Prepare accurate, concise, timely and relevant advice and reports on broad protective security and resilience matters as required by Departmental executive and/or Ministers, often within tight timeframes.
- Provide support to the Manager Security Programs to deliver on a range of activities that support security outcomes for the Department and broader transport sector.

**Qualifications and Experience**

**Desirable**
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in protective security
- Experience in developing and implementing technical protective security doctrine, including procedures, work instructions, guidelines and processes
- Knowledge and experience in security management
