**About the role**

Due to increased workload we are currently seeking a Trade Assistant to join our Canberra workshops.

Within this role you will work alongside experienced Plant Mechanics, Boilermakers and Auto Electricians to ensure a high quality of output and a safe working environment. You will be involved in; disassembly, cleaning and inspection of CAT equipment, movement/storage of plant and equipment, carrying out minor maintenance and repairs and other miscellaneous tasks.

These positions are a great entry point to a career in the heavy industry.

Roster: 12.5 hour shifts including breaks, on a day/night rotating roster.

**Essential Criteria**:

- Mechanical aptitude & interest in the heavy industry
- Excellent interpersonal/teamwork and communication skills
- Dedicated commitment to Safety and Quality Assurance
- Able to work competently unsupervised
- Positive, can-do attitude

**Desirable Criteria**
- Previous experience in a similar role in a mechanical industry
- Welding qualification or experience will be highly regarded
