Temporary full time for up to 6 months, with the view to ongoing employment.
- $83,591 - $95,076 per annum (depending on skills and experience), including an all-incidence allowance of $7,863 per annum, employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
- Based in Penrith, NSW. However, maybe required to attend Parliament House from time to time.

**About us**

The Penrith Electorate Office is the point of contact for constituents and local community groups to engage with the Member for Penrith regarding state government services and responsibilities.

**About the position**

The position holder will be the initial point of contact for all constituent enquiries. Administrative functions are central to this role to support the Member, and to ensure the efficient operation of the electorate office. The role is full-time working five days per week with flexibility **and may require some weekend and evening work**. The applicant must also be able to work effectively in a politically sensitive environment.

Local knowledge is highly desirable and an there is an expectation of the applicant to become a JP.

Skills required include high communication especially when dealing with the public, social media, media monitoring, designing ads for publication and drafting statements for the Member and posting online.

**Selection Criteria**
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to hear from and liaise with community groups, government and non-government organisations, and the media.
- Excellent writing skills including the ability to prepare correspondence, briefing notes, submissions, speeches, newsletters and media releases.
- Demonstrated superior organisational skills to work effectively as part of a team and under pressure while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated capacity to exercise sound judgement when dealing with difficult constituents and ability to perform at a high standard under limited supervision and within a team environment.
- Good word processing/keyboard/ computer and social media skills for working in an office environment.
