We are seeking a registered electrical engineer or a licensed industrial electrician to join the Boeing Defence Australia Engineering team to lead the company's national electrical safety and compliance efforts in the role of **Electrical Safety and Compliance Lead (ESCL).**

This is a principal-level role in Boeing Defence Australia with responsibility for advising on the compliance of all electrical-related work and policies and electrical safety requirements across Australia. As a member of the Office of the Chief Engineer, this challenging and rewarding role will see you encounter a range of electrical installations and electrical equipment types across several Australian States and Territories, on both Defence and non-Defence sites. This role is notionally based in Brisbane, but other locations will be considered.

**Responsibilities**
- Undertake primary assurance activities to maintain electrical safety systems and processes including:

- Develop, implement and periodically review electrical policies, procedures and processes;
- Ensure electrical safety audits are performed and electrical safety requirements are being met;
- Provide advice and support to electrical design, installations, operations and maintenance;
- Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical regulations and standards;
- Maintaining electrical registers (including licenses, registration and equipment);
- Review and endorse risk assessments pertaining to electrical safety.
- Provide expertise and advice to stakeholders on electrical work and safety including:

- State and Territory requirements for specific activity licenses such as electrical, fire, security and communications systems;
- Legislative changes impacting Boeing Defence Australia electrical work and safety;
- Licensing, Test and Tag, Certificates of Compliance, live work, arc flash assessments, hazardous area compliance, machine safety systems, permit systems, lock-out and tag-out systems;
- Specialist advice to relevant electrical safety investigations;
- Lead the Electrical Safety Working Group

**Experience/Qualifications**
- Professional registration as an Electrical Engineer or a licensed industrial electrician who has previously held, or currently holds an electrical contractors license
- Knowledge of Australian State and Territory Electrical and Occupational Health & Safety legislation and regulations
- Proactive, problem solving, energetic, team focused approach
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Strong communication skills
