**About the role**
UGL’s Manufacturing and Maintenance business is looking for a Technical Writer to join our Engineering team. This role will be offered on a permanent full-time basis and be ideally located at our facility in Broadmeadow, Newcastle, however will consider suitable applicants based Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne.
Reporting to the Capability Manager - Systems, the role of the Technical Writer is to provide specialist capability and support to ensure that technical publications, training services and associated documentation are delivered in line with project and business requirements.
You will produce technical specifications, reports, and documentation within the Manufacturing & Maintenance engineering governance and assurance framework and ensure technical publications and training services product support requirements are achieved including project coordination, technical documentation from third party suppliers and facilitation and delivery of training to customers in the correct operation and maintenance of the UGL products.
**About You**
- Previous experience within a Technical Writer role ideally supporting an engineering team within a heavy industry environment
- Engineering diploma - desired
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment - desired
- Ability and willingness to adapt, quickly learn and put to use new skills and knowledge brought about by rapidly changing structure, process, information and/or technology.
- Experienced gained in the rail, automotive, military, defence, avionics or any other safety critical environment.
