**Employment type - Temporary 12 months, 35 hours per week (flexible working hours)**

**Your role**

As an Aboriginal Community Engagement & Culture Officer, you will provide advice and support to Community Corrections in the case management of identified offender groups in a culturally sensitive manner and ensure appropriate case plans and supervision is implemented consistent with CSNSW mission of reduction of re-offending. You will also identify and build collaborative community networks and partnerships to improve the effectiveness of community offender programs for identified offender groups.

**What you’ll do**

You will predominately work within a team responsible for supervising individuals placed on a post sentence order (PSO), referred to as an Extended Supervision Order.

The basic test for the making of a PSO is that the Court is satisfied to a high degree of probability that the offender presents an unacceptable risk of committing a serious sexual or violent offence if not kept under supervision in the community.

Community Corrections while ensuring culture is at the centre of our work.

You will be part of the Intensive Rehabilitation District and may also be required to work with teams supporting Aboriginal people across other programs including our Risk Management Programs (RMP), Behavioural Intervention Support Service and THROU.

- _identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, and_
- _is accepted as such by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community._
