**About us**

The Portable Long Service Authority (the Authority) is a self-funded statutory body established to administer the Long Service Benefits Portability Act 2018. The Act, together with the Long Service Benefits Portability Regulations 2020 provide a Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme. The Authority plays an important role in allowing workers in the community services, contract cleaning and security industries to build up long service benefits based on time in their industry rather than with a single employer. **About the role**

The Governance & Risk Adviser supports the Authority in maintaining compliance with Victorian public sector governance and legislative standards, risk management frameworks, and regulatory obligations. This role ensures adherence to VPS values-Integrity, Impartiality, Accountability, and Responsiveness while embedding a culture of risk awareness and continuous improvement.This position is located in Bendigo but can also be carried out from our Melbourne office.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Develop and implement governance and risk management frameworks aligned with VPS policies and Victorian Government Risk Management Framework.
- Provide expert advice on legislative compliance, risk mitigation, and corporate governance.
- Conduct risk assessments, monitor and maintain risk registers and support strategic planning to address emerging risks.
- Monitor regulatory changes affecting the Victorian public sector and advise on implications.
- Oversee audit and assurance processes, including stakeholder and contract management of internal auditors and ensuring alignment with VPS standards.
