Project Environmental Approvals Specialist

Location: Bentley with occasional travel to WA Hours: 38 hours per week Pay: Negotiable Duration: 6 months, with possible extension As the Project Environmental Approval Specialist you will be the Lead consultant engagement for environmental surveys, coordinate environmental survey delivery and establish environmental approvals pathway required to deliver construction for Project to transfer regional WA onto a greener energy sources. Key Accountabilities: - Develop an environmental approvals plan/pathway. - Manage project environmental surveys and suppliers. - Primary project representative in all environmental related matters, including project representation at meetings, internal and external. - Develop advice to ensure compliance with approvals. - Understand project & JV partner needs and effectively manage their expectations. - Deliver against cost targets / budget. - Implement industry best practice environmental practices achieving project outcomes in compliance with relevant environmental legislation and standards. - Deliver monitoring, audit and report performance and compliance against Horizon Power plans, systems and processes. - Development and implementation of environmental plans and processes as required to deliver on project objectives. - Governance - Including responsibility for maintaining Environmental project folder in the document control system, version control of all related project artifacts, etc. - Manage the technical interface between the project team and environmental consultants and service providers. - Coordinate the environmental survey and assessment activities (undertaken by external parties) with the other technical disciplines of the project. - Ensure that environmental survey and assessment work meets Horizon Power's requirements and standards. - Technical review of environmental survey and assessment works and deliverables. Qualifications: - Tertiary science degree, preferably in environmental science, environmental management or a related discipline is required. Skills and Experience: Essential: - At least 5 years practical experience in a role delivering environmental approvals, and managing supporting surveys. - Experience coordinating and managing delivery of environmental surveys in regional of WA. - Extensive experience in environmental impact assessment and State and Federal approvals of major projects. - Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation and environmental standards is required. - Advanced GIS skillset. - WA Driver's license class "C" Desired: - Delivery of linear infrastructure approvals in Western Australia. - Managing environmental compliance. **Who are we** At PERSOLKELLY, our passion is - and always has been - putting you first.
