SYNOPSIS:
The Treasury are seeking an APS6, Insider Threat Advisor to join the Protective Security Unit of the Information Services Branch.

The Protective Security Unit delivers security services and risk mitigation advice to safeguard the Treasury’s personnel, information, and assets.

The Security Team supports the Chief Security Officer in implementing the 210 requirements from the 6 sections outlined in the Commonwealth Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF). Utilising a risk-managed approach tailored to the department’s specific security goals and objectives, the team ensures robust and effective protective security measures.

**About the Role**:
The Insider Threat Team provides the Treasury with a centralised capability for insider threat analysis and response. As the focal point for the insider threat team within Treasury, you will be responsible for:

- Support the development and implementation of Treasurys Insider Threat Program (InTP).
- Perform risk assessments, triage insider threat referrals, and conduct investigations.
- Support continuous monitoring in accordance with PSPF and other whole of government control requirements.
- Undertake analysis of technical data and observable indicators to proactively identify insider threats.
- Support the Treasury InTP case management process and forums by developing documentation, facilitating meetings, and actioning forum recommendations.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and service providers to coordinate threat responses.
- Ensure compliance reporting is completed for PSPF assessments and Office of National Intelligence InTP audits.
- Delivering training and awareness initiatives to educate employees about insider threat risks.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with relevant policies and legislation.

**Desirable Qualifications / Experience**:
The following skills and/or experience would be highly regarded:

- Successfully completed one of the following: Certificate IV in Personnel Security Vetting, Certificate IV in Security and Risk Management, Certificate IV in Government Investigations.

**Essential Requirements**
- A Positive Vetting (Top-Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
