**Passionate, genuine and focused: Here’s who we’re looking for.**
- You’re a strategic thinker, who is passionate about sustainability and has experience focusing on energy, waste and water management.
- You love working with data and excited to look at innovative ways of collecting data to deliver on reporting requirements.
- You’re experienced in writing business cases effectively articulating the financial implications and benefits for an organisation.
- You are familiar with a variety of reporting standards including the new Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards and the Global Reporting Initiative
- You hold a science degree or equivalent and passionate about sustainability, keep abreast of global developments and innovation and are motivated to have an impact.
- You enjoy working independently and collaboratively with a small team.
- You are great at building and nurturing productive relationships with stakeholders at all levels, and of many diverse backgrounds.
**This bit matters **We’re an equal opportunity employer and we’re proud of our diverse work environment. We are also on our own journey to support an even more diverse and inclusive workplace culture. We recognise the need to continue to encourage diversity and strive to have a workforce that is representative of our community. If you have any questions about our inclusivity or accessibility, please do get in touch.
**Five reasons why we hope you’ll apply.**
You’ll enjoy some great benefits at Port of Brisbane, including Flex-Work, a Healthy Lifestyle Program including a free, on-site gym, subsidised Café, and a commitment to developing our people. But joining us in this role should mean so much more.
- **A diverse role where every day’s different**
As the Sustainability Advisor, you’ll get interesting, varied work, as you engage with a diverse, dispersed workforce. What’s more, you’ll love the opportunity to shape your role, your impact and the Port’s strategic sustainability goals.
- **An important job, a powerful purpose**
What we do at Port of Brisbane affects all Queenslanders and many who visit our proud state. So it’s vital that we are playing our part and contributing towards a sustainable future
- **A place where flexibility matters too**:
We expect a lot from our people, who are committed and dedicated to our mission. But in return for your efforts, you’ll enjoy flexibility and balance, no matter what’s important to you outside of work. Talk to us about a part time role, working from home, staggered start and finish times or any other arrangements that might be important to you.
- **A welcoming, supportive culture**:
You’ll find so many friendly, connected people at Port of Brisbane, and our Corporate Relations and Sustainability team are no exception. From our long termers who will share their guidance and understanding of the past, to our new team members keen to have an impact and deliver, not to mention the steady hands of those in between. This is a team who love to take some time to connect and collaborate, but it is so much more than this - a group of supportive people wanting to bring out the best in each other and succeed
- **A proud reputation; a bright future**:
You’ll join a company renowned for best practice in our industry, and a team that is proud of the impact they make. But we’re not sitting still. Bring your fresh perspectives and expertise to a team that truly values them.
If you’re interested in the role and think you fit the bill, we’d love to hear from you
You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or hold a valid work permit or visa. You’ll also be required to complete pre-employment checks, including a national police check and a fitness for work assessment.
