**Your new role**:
We have an exciting opportunity for a social worker to join our Adoption and Permanent Care team, working across the Permanent Care Program, Adoption Program and Concurrent Care Program.

As a Case Worker you will:

- Oversee recruitment, training and assessment of carers
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of children referred to the program and shortlist placements for children
- Offer relinquishment counselling support to birth parents in the infant adoption program
- Provide information and counselling to adopted people and their families in relation to past adoptions
- Provide pre and post-legal supervision and support to children, their carers and birth families

**Your skills and experience**:
You will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a degree qualification in Social Work and eligibility for membership of A.A.S.W, or equivalent Psychology or a related discipline.

You will also have:

- Demonstrated case management and counselling experience within the child and family welfare sector, particularly in out of home care, child protection or adoption services
- Proven competence in child and carer assessments and supporting placement processes for children in out of home care
- An understanding of the Best Interests Framework, Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 and Adoption Act 1984
- Excellent written skills with the ability to maintain case notes and prepare reports in a timely manner
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
