A leading insurance company in Sydney is seeking an Information Security Lead to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a newly created role.

The primary purpose of this role is oversight of the related ISMS activities, risk identification and assessment, prevention and advice to the management within the local branch.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the local IS team's activities, including all aspects of people management (setting up a new team), and liaise with the central Information Security Team
- Provide information security consulting and liaison with all relevant stakeholders
- Ensure the effective implementation of Information Security principles and procedures during the full service life cycle of services, including those provided by external parties (e.g. Cloud providers) and outsourcing partners;
- Oversee the implementation of and compliance with Group-wide standards, regulatory requirements and industry security standards
- Lead and coach team members to develop capability, build high performing, collaborative and engaged teams

Key skills / Experience:

- 5 years+ experience in Information Security related fields and/ or risk management;
- Proven track record in people management
- Sound knowledge of IT security technology, architecture and processes and profound knowledge of information security management systems and relevant industry standards (in particular ISO270xx, COBIT5/2019);
- Professional experience with supplier management (including Cloud providers), IT outsourcing and relevant control frameworks; track record in defining and monitoring contractual information security provisions
