As part of our exciting growth in the SME Market Segment, Allianz have created opportunities to join our SME Underwriting team as a Professional Indemnity Underwriter where you will be responsible for providing a high level of underwriting service to our broker partners and work collaboratively with our broader underwriting and distribution teams to ensure appropriate underwriting decisions are made.

**You'll be responsible for**:

- Underwriting Professional Indemnity risks for SME customers, adhering to underwriting guidelines and standards;
- Manage new business requests, renewal management and policy maintenance.
- Work closely with both the management team and the broader business, you will ensure that tasks are managed according to agreed service standard;
- Maximise retention of preferred accounts and review renewal and new business in conjunction with internal and external stakeholder requirements;
- Underwrite insurance risks in area of responsibility, adhering to underwriting guidelines and standards, per delegated authority limits;
- Make recommendations on risks that exceed own authority and prepare escalations (sign-off) ensuring referral is accurate, thorough and balanced in terms of achieving desired profitable growth;
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within SME and Dealer Division, Financial Lines team, Commercial and other Allianz divisions
- Ensure all key compliance and contract certainty requirements are adhered to such as training courses and peer reviews, and constantly seek opportunities for process improvement.

**Important to your success**:

- Extensive experience in a commercial underwriting role in a complex, matrixed general insurance organisation (professional indemnity experience preferred).
- A passion for providing a quality and responsive service to our internal and external customers;
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to both build relationships and influence at all levels;
- Self-motivated with the ability to work in an autonomous environment;
- Ability to positively influence the team.
- Adept at proactively building and maintaining professional relationships and networks to enhance industry positioning, exchange knowledge and elicit beneficial outcomes.
- Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands.
- Pays high attention to detail by completing tasks with thoroughness and accuracy and must have the ability to quickly identify errors or inconsistencies within information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with clarity, impact and influence.
