**Description**:
As a Safety Health & Environment Advisor at Cater Care, located in Stirling, you will play a pivotal role in the Safety, Health & Environment department. This permanent, full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the organisation's commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and environmental responsibility.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures in line with statutory requirements and best practices.
- Provide expert advice on health, safety, and environmental issues to employees at all levels of the organisation.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, analysing root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Deliver engaging training sessions to promote awareness of health, safety, and environmental responsibilities across the company.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in safety performance through effective communication and consultation.
**Main Tasks**:
- Perform site inspections to assess workplace conditions and identify potential hazards.
- Review existing health and safety policies, updating as necessary to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Support the development of emergency response plans for various scenarios, including fire evacuation procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, near misses, risk assessments, and training activities.
- Keep abreast of changes in legislation or industry best practices related to health, safety, and environment.
**Skills and Experiences**:
- Proven experience in a similar role within the safety, health, and environment field
- Strong knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and regulations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to conduct risk assessments and implement effective control measures
- Experience in developing and delivering health, safety, and environmental training programmes
- Ability to carry out incident investigations and produce detailed reports with recommendations for improvement
- Proficient in using IT systems for data analysis and reporting purposes
- Nebosh General Certificate or equivalent qualification in occupational health and safety
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IOSH, IEMA) would be advantageous
