Treasury Trader - Sydney

The Treasury Trader (aka Senior Treasury Analyst) assists with management of the Company's day-to-day currency positions arising from its money transfer and business payments products.

Primary responsibilities include:

- managing Convera's FX risk by hedging client trade activity with our foreign exchange bank counterparties within prescribed interest rate and currency risk limits
- quoting FX prices across multiple products, and structuring option contracts for the Sales team.
- complete operational functions including: FX option, spot, swap, and forward deal execution, entry of trade data into the Treasury risk management system, exotic currency booking and return processing
- management of daily and ad hoc reporting activities.
- This is a hybrid role, split between our modern Sydney CBD office (with water & city views), and WFH
- variable working hours are sometimes required to meet trading market availability

What we want from you
- Strong knowledge of financial markets and foreign exchange instruments, including FX forwards, and the ability to demonstrate an understanding of complex Option strategies.
- The diverse set of currency exposures, high volumes and fast paced environment requires flawless execution, attention to detail, precise communication, and aptitude for operational processes.
- programming knowledge would an advantage - VBA, Python, SQL
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Aptitude to formulate suggestions to address complicated financial risk scenarios
- Strong financial modeling, Excel, and analytical skills
