Seeking an experienced Workplace Health and Safety Officer for an exciting role in Kensington

**Your new company**

A major State Government department based South of Perth CBD, is seeking an experienced Workplace Health and Safety Officer to join the team. You will be required to work full-time hours, working in an office location with free parking available on site. Initially you will be engaged on a 12-month temporary contract, paid on a competitive hourly rate.

**Your new role**

As the WHS Officer you will be responsible for providing support across Health, Safety and Wellbeing consultancy across the wider office. Your duties will include:

- Act as a point of contact for stakeholders around health and safety consultations and advice
- Undertake health and safety audits and conduct reports as necessary
- Support onsite Project Managers by delivering advice around health and safety obligations and processes
- Contribute towards the development of corporate risk management strategies
- Facilities workplace health and safety assessments as required
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement health safety and wellbeing-focused programs and strategies
- Assist in coordinating WHS Committee meetings once a month

**What you'll need to succeed**

In order to be considered for this role you will have previous experience in a Workplace Health and Safety position, in addition to:

- A confident understanding on the Occupational Health and Safety Act 1984
- Demonstrated experience in developing, coordinating and evaluation WHS / OHS training programs and strategies
- Excellent communication skills with confidence in delivering WHS advice to stakeholders
- The ability to provide a National Police Clearance, or willingness to obtain one
- A current WA driver's licence
