Our client has created a new permanent position for a Data Engineering Manager to join their Digital Data and Marketing division, helping understand customer needs better, delivering better products and services to increase customer retention using data and scientific methods.

This is an awesome opportunity to help manage and guide a team, while still being involved in the hands on, technical side of data engineering.
- As a Data Engineering Manager, you will bring domain knowledge and technical expertise to your chapter.
- You will Coach/mentor members of your team in Data Engineering principles and techniques that will lead to the up skilling and career development of those members.
- Deepen stakeholder engagement while also contributing to the hands-on technical delivery of squad objectives.

**Who we are looking for**:

- Strong communication and presentation skills allowing you to effectively communicate with senior stakeholders (technical and non-technical).
- Experience mentoring, leading, or managing a team of Engineers.
- Digital, Marketing experience (desirable) OR Banking, Finance, or Insurance.
- Experience working on data-driven marketing/**personalisation**.

**Technical skills**:

- Experience in traditional database platforms, languages, and large data sets (Teradata, Oracle, Hadoop, SQL, Postgres etc)
- Deep understanding and hands on experience with different aspects of data engineering (DatasStage, SSIS, Python, SAS R, JAVA, API’s etc)
- A good understanding of DevOp fundamentals
