At MYOB, we empower small businesses with transformative technology We're looking for a Data Engineering Manager to join us and lead the design and delivery of scalable, high-quality data solutions that power insights, AI features, and innovation.

As Data Engineering Manager at MYOB, you'll lead the charge in shaping how data flows across the business – building reliable pipelines, championing quality, and making data accessible and impactful.

You'll guide a high-performing team, set technical direction, and collaborate across product, tech, and AI to deliver smart, scalable data solutions. This is your chance to drive innovation, unlock insights, and help power the next generation of data-driven experiences.

The Role

As a foundational member of the Data and AI team, this is a unique opportunity to:

- Define and deliver a strategic roadmap, aligned to business goals and driving greater value from data.

- Lead the design, build, and maintenance of scalable, reliable, and governed data flows, with clear standards and observability.

- Prepare data and metadata for AI products and analytics, and enable insight from structured data across teams.

- Mentor and lead a high-performing data engineering team, boosting collaboration, productivity, and retention.

- Promote collaboration across engineering, data science, analytics, and business teams to ensure clear, effective solution delivery.

- Build and uphold systems for data quality, security, privacy, and governance, ensuring trusted and compliant data use.

- Champion continuous improvement to lift the team's efficiency, capability, and impact.

What You'll Bring

- Extensive knowledge of data engineering principles, varied data tools and paradigms, cloud platforms, and advanced coding skills in Python and SQL.

- Proven software engineering chops, including TDD, clean code practices, and hands-on experience with CI/CD and DevOps.

Critical thinking, with a history of crafting scalable data infrastructure and pipelines that drive business impact.

- Great collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively across business, product, and technology teams.

- Data quality and governance know-how, with experience building frameworks that ensure trust, compliance, and distributed accountability.

- Strong business insight, with exposure to data needs across finance, customer and product.

- AI/ML enablement experience, supporting GenAI and machine learning use cases, including MLOps integration.

- Inspiring leadership, with tried experience growing and mentoring high-performing data engineering teams.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine - - - - Learning, or a related field, and relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Engineer) are highly desirable.
