**How will I Help?**

**Responsibilities**:

- Helping to shape, as well as monitor, track and report on Westpac’s Sustainability Strategy, including engagement across the business to support performance.
- Driving the continued evolution of Westpac’s approach to sustainability reporting, including developments towards integrated reporting, partnering closely with strategy, finance and risk teams.
- Leading Westpac’s ESG data production approach and delivery, including scope, quality, collection processes, verification, assurance (working with our external third-party assurance provider) and reporting (working with the Group’s Financial Control and Investor Relations teams).
- Leading Westpac’s materiality assessment, identifying key sustainability risks and opportunities for the Group.
- Key role in Half and Full Year Reporting project delivery team.
- Collaborating with key business divisions and functions to provide best-in-class technical advice and guidance on sustainability disclosure and performance issues with a particular focus on performance improvement, reporting and benchmarking.
- Respond and map disclosures to current and emerging frameworks, including GRI, UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, Principles for Responsible Banking, Sustainability Accounting Standards Board standards (SASB) and the Net Zero Banking Alliance (NZBA) - as well as emerging international standards, including IFRS/ISSB sustainability standards, proposed SEC disclosures and being mindful of evolving European reporting requirements.
- Contributing to Westpac’s response to external sustainability indices, such as the DJSI Corporate Assessment Survey, Sustainalytics and MSCI.
- Representing Westpac on Australian and international working groups and industry platforms connected to the Group’s sustainability agenda with a particular focus on reporting, benchmarking and assurance, including UNEP FI’s Principles for Responsible Banking.

**What do I need?**
- Deep understanding of sustainability and ESG issues and broader national and international sustainability practice and trends in relation to corporate reporting and ESG benchmarking.
- Exposure to/involvement in financial and/or sustainability assurance.
- Exceptional project management and stakeholder management skills with a track record of driving successful outcomes on complex agendas.
- 8+ years’ relevant experience within a corporate or consultancy environment.
- Outstanding capacity to deliver high quality results to deadline, with excellent attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly in structuring and contributing to external published reports.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking in developing solutions/approaches to sustainability challenges. Ability to support leaders in the preparation of strategic documents.
- Strong capacity to influence peers and senior managers and drive change.
- Ability to counsel and provide guidance to other team members.
- Patient and resilient - remaining focused on delivering on longer-term sustainability outcomes.
- Curious mindset and demonstrated passion and interest in the field of sustainability
