Hays is currently partnered with one of the largest TAFEs in Victoria to recruit a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Consultant in a permanent capacity. This company encompasses a history of over 165 years of education and training, with a strong commitment to the Skills First policy.
Your new role
Reporting into the Head of HSW, you will work with people across the organisation to implement and maintain systems, processes, and data to enable a safe working and learning environment for staff, student, and visitors.
Responsibilities will include:
- Work with a high level of autonomy to drive the Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) compliance culture
- Provide specialist advice to senior & line managers in the implementation of the HSW Management System
- Use expert knowledge to consult with others regarding HSW areas such as legislative requirements, policies & procedures, monitoring and internal audits, incident reporting, risk assessments
- Support the review and investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses as required.
- Business partner with stakeholder to identify and develop proactive programs to deal with hazards and/or emerging risks in consultation with stakeholders.
- Project manage an HSW Auditing program to monitor the implementation of the HSW Management System.
- Support the coordination and collaboration on the delivery of key Employee Wellbeing initiatives and programs.
What you'll need to succeed
- You must be a team player that works at a high standard and is looking to make a difference
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience, including knowledge and skills over a broad range of health, safety and wellbeing activities
- Demonstrated experience in Health, Safety and Wellbeing
- Understanding of Workers Compensation
- Proven experience in the proactive management of worker compensation including claims and the management of claims costs.
- Proven experience in the proactive management of injury and/illness to facilitate a return to work.
What you'll get in return
This role offers you an attractive annual salary of $130,000 inc. This role can either be.8 or FTE, does require some adhoc travel - with travel allowances paid out.
