**The Opportunity**
- This role will be based in Dandenong office and will work on the Gippsland Line Upgrade project in Gippsland/ Morwell-Bunyip. Meals and accommodation paid for if required. Interesting works due to the environment impact to local area. The project is over 150km of track with expose to many local fauna and flora A great opportunity to influence and make a difference.

**Key responsibilities include**
- Promote total environmental awareness to employees, subcontractors and all persons in the job vicinity and stress to all employees and subcontractors the importance senior management attaches to environmental protection.
- Ensure that environmental aspects are identified, risks assessed and control measures planned and implemented in consultation with relevant employees.
- Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with the requirements of the relevant specifications, codes and standards, which form part of the contract and environmental legal obligations.
- Ensure that all personnel are inducted and trained and aware of their roles and responsibilities relating to environmental management and compliance.
- Support and lead community engagement activities

**Requirements to be successful**
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction/ heavy engineering sectors.
- Self-confident and ability to persuade, convince or impress others to gain their commitment and co-operation to a course of action.
- Understanding of core environmental principles and regulations
- Influencing and good relationship building skill
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or equivalent
