Team Leader

The GHD **Toowoomba **office has a great opportunity for a **Team Leader - Roads & Highways **to support a wide range of civil projects within a multidisciplinary environment. Being part of a dynamic team staff, you will be responsible for supporting external client projects as well as a large number of internal GHD client groups.

**Working with the Business Group Leader
- Toowoomba, this position offers good variety of work and will see you involved in**:

- Preparing high quality documentation delivery on transport focused projects and other civil related design projects
- Co-ordinating project resources and monitor project progress to deliver projects on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of internal and external clients
- Developing submissions to request for tenders and proposals
- Providing mentoring and supervision to young professionals
- Developing and grow GHD’s presence and market within Toowoomba and South West Region.
- Project management, project director and design management roles on local and South Queensland projects

**What you will bring to the team**:
You will be a well-regarded professional engineer with a strong reputation and network in the Roads and Highways area within the Queensland market and your demonstrated strong relationships, particularly TMR and Toowoomba Regional Council, would be highly regarded.
- Extensive design engineering experience including knowledge of the overall road design process and sub-disciplines (drainage, road safety barriers, pavements etc.) and experience leading design teams
- Existing relationships in the Roads and Highways sector in Queensland in particular with TMR would be highly regarded and/or Toowoomba Regional Council
- Confidence and capability in client relationship management, including the aptitude for building new networks and opportunities.
- Collaborative leadership style with a hands-on approach to managing projects and teams. A commitment to high quality, best practice deliverables.
- A sound technical knowledge of Australian design practices (Austroads) and State Road authority standards
- 8-10 plus years’ experience in the civil engineering area with a focus on roads and highways
- Degree qualified with CPEng / RPEQ or commitment to achieve within first 3 months.

Located 125km west of Brisbane, Toowoomba is located on the edge of the Great Dividing Range, at an altitude of 700m above sea level, offering breathtaking views over the Lockyer Valley region to the east. GHD’s Toowoomba office was established in 2005 and has since become an integral part of GHD’s South Queensland practice.

We are committed to the region and the growth of our staff and client base. Currently the office has 15 staff, providing a diverse range of services (civil/transport engineering, structural engineering, project management, HV electrical engineering, surface water engineering, and location intelligence) to meet our clients’ requirements in the rapidly expanding Toowoomba and South West region and the broader South Queensland area.

With a population of approximately 150,000, economic drivers in the region include transport, agriculture, food production, metal and machinery manufacture, wine processing, education, and training, energy and resources (including renewables) as well as the increase in Australian Defence Force facilities upgrades. Significant demands have been placed on the region’s infrastructure in recent years, representing growth opportunities for GHD.
