**Join our vibrant learning community at Unity College, a dynamic P-12 Catholic ecumenical college in Queensland. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Literacy Intervention Teacher to support student success in literacy development for Years 7 to 9.**
**This role focuses on working collaboratively with teachers and learning support staff to deliver evidence-based literacy intervention programs that enhance reading, writing, and language comprehension.**

**About the role** -**As a dynamic and innovative member of our school community, you will:

- Create a nurturing and ordered learning environment which is learner-centred, safe, supportive, co-operative and aligned with relevant curriculum, policies and practices
- Collaborate with your peers to develop and implement quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy
- Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning
- Design and implement targeted literacy intervention programs for students requiring additional support
- Deliver explicit instruction in reading, writing, and comprehension using proven strategies
- Monitor student progress using diagnostic and standardised assessments
- Collaborate with teachers to embed literacy strategies
- Provide guidance and professional support to colleagues on literacy instruction
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that inspires student engagement and growth
- Work with the school leadership team and colleagues to contribute to the professional life of the school
- Proactively engage with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes
- Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.

**About you** -**To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience in Literacy Intervention Teaching as well as:

- Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum
- Commitment to child safety
- Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant teaching qualifications and registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT)
- Expertise in leading literacy in education
- A commitment to contemporary, evidence-based literacy practices and differentiation
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents
- A commitment to the ethos of Catholic education and the holistic development of students
- Proven organisational skills
- Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes
- Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.

**At BCE our teachers are required to**:

- Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
- Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
