An excellent opportunity has arisen for senior lawyers to join the Department of Customer Service (DCS) Legal in the Corporate + Commercial + Digital team.

DCS Legal provides pragmatic, strategic and business focused legal advice and support across diverse areas including ICT and digital strategy, government platforms, innovation initiatives, Service NSW products/services/delivery channels, customer and digital transformation initiatives, corporate and shared services, work safety, workers compensation and WHS regulation, consumer protection, Revenue NSW, Service NSW, the Data Analytics Centre, Liquor, Gaming and Racing and Births, Deaths and Marriages.

As a Principal Solicitor in the DCS Legal Corporate + Commercial + Digital team, you will be joining a passionate, motivated, and engaged group of professionals providing strategic and pragmatic advice on a broad range of corporate/commercial/regulatory/ICT matters, transformational projects, new products/apps and platform development, cyber security and privacy, interagency agreements and whole of government projects across all business units/agencies within the DCS cluster.

**Key responsibilities will include**
- Providing strategic, pragmatic, focused and accountable specialist legal advice and strategy across a range of areas covering ICT, corporate, commercial and regulatory.
- Reviewing, drafting, negotiating and advising in relation to software acquisition/licensing, intellectual property in information technology and innovation projects, cloud service delivery, emerging technology in the provision of government services, liability framework/options, cyber/ IT security, privacy, commercial procurement and product development.
- Whole of Government Procure IT/Digital.NSW ICT Purchasing Framework contracts for ICT products and services.
- Providing legal advice on whole of government and DCS procurement projects including tender and contract preparation, advice, drafting and negotiation of contracts.
- Providing legal advice and analysis in relation to a range of legislation administered by DCS.
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a range of documentation including transactional documents, service/funding/consulting agreements and briefing notes.

**About You**
- You must hold an Australian Practising Certificate under the Legal Profession Uniform Law (NSW)
- You must demonstrate a minimum of 6 years relevant post qualification experience in two or more of the following areas in private, corporate or government practice:

- corporate/commercial projects or transactional matters
- ICT/Digital
- major procurement, IP, and privacy
- insurance regulatory frameworks
- You will have strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- You will be a commercially focused team player who can work independently and explore and provide solutions to clients.
- You will be committed to building relationships across DCS business and working collaboratively to support business requirements.
- You will have strong contract drafting, negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills.

**Salary Grade 11-12 $131,094 - $151,609 p.a. plus superannuation, full time**
