Transport Manager

We are seeking an experienced** Transport Manager **with excellent leadership skills to oversee a large processed driven workforce area in** Sydney** on a **permanent full-time **basis.

**More about this role**:
Reporting to the Business Manager, the Transport Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the dnata catering customer delivery strategy and all operations from the catering centre to the terminals.

A highly visible leadership role, leading multiple teams of operational staff in an industrial environment, where you will be responsible for the optimisation and integration of an end-to-end catering delivery service.

**In a nutshell, your main responsibilities are**:

- Manage day to day activities associated with labour and aircraft movements, to achieve accurate operational KPI's
- Support the Customer Delivery (Transport) Supervisor, Area Leading Hands and/or Resource Coordinators in managing daily operational variances and act as the decision maker in operational matters
- Manage team performance and provide effective development and coaching to ensure optimum levels of team and individual performance
- Ensure staff compliance with relevant regulatory compliance such as Airside Driving Regulations, Food Safety, AQIS Customs regulations, etc.
- Maintain the company’s policy in relation to HACCP, QSAI and WHS in accordance with Federal and State Government Regulations
- Look for opportunities to improve processes, systems and procedures, seek ideas and collect data to assess suitability for implementation
- Manage assigned transformation projects for their departments or across the Centre as directed by the Business Manager
- Monitor safe driving practices airside, performance manage any breaches of Airside Driving Regulations
- Understand and commit to being a great leader, balancing the operation of the business and genuine care and concern for your people
- Ensure that your team are set clear and consistent goals and expectations within their teams and regularly follow up on your team’s KPI’s

**What do you need to be successful in the role?**
- Holder of a HR or MR license
- Working knowledge of industrial relations practices
- Proven leadership experience in a similar environment
- Experience with customer service, inventory control, and management systems
- Previous success building and achieving KPI targets
- Ability to build constructive and effective working relationships in formal and informal networks, with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions and act on initiative
- Proven adaptability to changing environments
- Shift management experience in a manufacturing environment
- As you will be working in the Aviation Services industry, you will be required to obtain a clear National Police Check
