**The role**:
We are looking for a leader who will support and motivate our design teams, whilst managing stakeholders and the client - ensuring the focus remains on safety, quality, cost and schedule in the planning and execution of the work.

**Your impact**:
You will effectively control and manage key design aspects of infrastructure projects to ensure the design meets all technical, contractual, commercial and program deliverables aspects.

**Your every day**:

- Lead the design management activities for key major civil infrastructure projects
- Work with all project stakeholders to ensure that Symal’s design management process is followed and all issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Comply with all standards of technical compliance, quality, cost, safety, sustainability and environmental performance
- Ensure design schedules are met
- Ensure that all of Symal’s design, engineering and third-party approval obligations are met in accordance with the project requirements.

**Who are you?**

***To be successful in this role, ideally you will have:

- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or similar with an extensive background in delivering complex design and construction projects within civil and/or rail.
- A demonstrated capacity to identify, manage and mitigate the key design risks of large-scale infrastructure projects with well-developed leadership skills.
- Great communicator - written and verbal.
- Have a sound understanding of typical construction specifications used in the Victorian construction industry
- Good commercial acumen - proven expertise in establishment and governance of commercial contracts with a large number of design partners.
