**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**:
We are seeking someone to join our team as a Trainee Environmental Health Officer
This role will assist the Coordinator Environmental Health and other members of the Environment Health Unit and Council to ensure that the organisation meets all of its Legislative, Management Plan and Budgetary requirements. The Environmental Health Unit is also responsible for maintaining Cumberland Council (the organisation and the community) at the forefront of Environmental Health.
The successful applicant will require:
- Currently enrolled in Bachelor of Natural Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent
- Completed a minimum of one year of the B. Nat. Sc Environmental Health or equivalent
- Higher School Certificate
- Class C Full (unrestricted) Driver Licence
- Current First Aid certificate
- General Construction Induction Card (White Card) (or willing to obtain)

**About this role**:
- Term contract, full-time position
- 70 hour fortnight
- Access to Council's 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO) arrangement
- Located at Council's Auburn office, with travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council’s work locations
**Salary information**: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
- Grade T4 - T10 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $882.66 to $1206.92 per week, plus 11.5% superannuation
- The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
